Copperfield is a community located in the southwestern region of Lexington, Kentucky, and is about an hour away from Louisville. Because this neighborhood is headed by the Copperfield Home Association with a population of over 420 residents, it’s easy to feel like part of a tight-knit family. Once you become a homeowner in Copperfield, you’ll automatically be a member of the home association and have access to the clubhouse and other amenities. Cool, right?
Even though Copperfield has incredible amenities like pools, sports fields, and a playground, you may want to explore amenities outside the neighborhood. If you don’t mind taking a one-hour trip to Louisville, you can visit the House of Boom, a facility dedicated to extreme sports. Jump on one of its trampolines, play dodgeball and check out its other games. On the other hand, you can travel only seven miles to Lexington, the “Horse Capital of the World.” Lexington shows its love of horses through the Kentucky Horse Park. This park houses about 50 breeds of horses that graze on its 1,200 acres of fresh grass. It also has art galleries, museums, theaters and functional farm exhibits. It even has a campground with bathhouses, a store, sports fields and courts and a pool, which is perfect if you want to camp out before or after visiting the place. Copperfield has its own swim team: the Copperfield Sharks. This team is made up of 4-18-year-old community residents, and they compete in the Louisville Swim Association. If you have a child or teen who loves swimming, encourage them to join.
The homes in Copperfield possess a ranch-style appearance and are two-story single family houses made of brick and wood. These homes have three to five or more bedrooms. Most of the residents in Copperfield are married couples with school-aged children, so you can see that it’s very family-centered. Other great things about this neighborhood are that it’s affordable, safe and has a strong economy. And, if you’re a horse fanatic, then that’s another reason to buy a home here because you’ll be less than 20 minutes from horse country, also known as Lexington.
