Crescent Hill is a community that’s about four miles from Louisville’s downtown area. It used to be called “Beargrass” since it’s situated on a ridge near Beargrass Creek. Crescent Hill has a little over 7,500 people, so once you buy a home here, you’ll be able to know most of your neighbors.
As a homeowner in Crescent Hill, you’ll be near many shops, grocery stores, and eateries. Annie May’s Sweet Cafe is a haven for sweets enthusiasts. What’s special about this place is that its baked products are free of gluten, soy and nut ingredients so that nearly all patrons can consume them without any issues. It even makes wedding cakes. Take your kid to Eastover Park, a great place for them to burn off pent up energy and get some fresh air. It has swings, slides and some monkey bars. It also has a couple of benches. Goodall Gallery is where you can look at various paintings. It’s not only a hub for paintings; it also holds what’s called a Community Drum Circle, an event that involves people performing together in a percussion ensemble. If you decide to participate, you can bring your own drum or borrow one of the drums provided. Grab a hearty breakfast or lunch at Eggs Over Frankfort. You can eat foods like pancakes, waffles, egg dishes, grits, sandwiches and more. Beverages you can order include soda, tea, coffee, milk, juice or hot chocolate. There are six schools in the Crescent Hill area: two public elementary schools, one public middle school, and two Catholic schools. The sixth school is the Louisville Academy of Music, a non-profit neighborhood music school open to students of all ages.
The real estate properties in Crescent Hill are comprised of small apartment buildings and single-family residences with zero to four bedrooms. Most of these homes (about 65 percent) were constructed before 1939, and a few of them were built during the mid-20 century. If you possess a master’s degree or higher, then you’ll be in good company in Crescent Hill because about 35 percent of adults hold such degrees. Other great reasons for purchasing a home in this community is that it has warm weather most of the time and it has a low-crime rate.
